About Me

Welcome to my clinic, Recovery Chinese Medicine. My name is Dr. Eliza Shrestha, and I believe that your health is your greatest treasure. Growing up in both Nepal and Australia, I learnt from a young age how cultural values, environmental and social contexts have a huge impact on health. As a teenager in Australia, I found that my painful periods and acne breakouts were considered normal in Western medical settings. Unfortunately, as I moved into adulthood, I found that my experience was shared by many others. This inspired me to explore holistic, natural, and preventative approaches to health. In my practice, I provide individualized treatments that address a wide variety of symptoms and conditions, with a focus on reproductive and fertility health, skincare, pain relief, and AOD rehabilitation. Using both traditional Chinese medicine expertise and Western contemporary clinical knowledge to support your body, mind, and overall health.

My focus areas are in women’s health, fertility, skincare, pain relief, and rehabilitation.

  • If you are attempting to conceive, we assist your body and hormones to provide the optimal opportunity for success.
  • If you are struggling with acne or skin issues, we offer a holistic approach to skin health to assist in acne flare-ups, inflammation, fine lines, wrinkles, and eczema.
  • If you are experiencing hormonal shifts, we support you in achieving balance and wellness at each phase.
  • Compassionate and non-judgmental acupuncture support for Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) recovery.

The Approach

I adopt a non-judgmental, holistic, harm reduction, and patient-centered approach.

The initial consultation is spent thoroughly getting to know your specific life circumstances, menstrual cycle, your body, mental health, current and past symptoms, your health history and family genetics. I then develop a treatment plan in collaboration with you that is based on your budget, and lifestyle. The treatment plans can include:

  • Acupuncture to support energy, balance, and healing
  • Chinese herbal medicine personalized to your needs
  • Lifestyle and nutrition guidance to nourish your body from the inside out
